1 Killed in Fiery Crash on US 59 in Duval County

One Killed in Duval County Two-Vehicle Crash on US 59

Duval County, Texas (June 8, 2021) – One person was killed Monday morning in a fiery two-vehicle crash in Duval County, according to the troopers.

The fatal crash happened just after 8:30 a.m., on June 7, on US 59, four miles west of Freer.

Troopers said a Mitsubishi was traveling northeast on the highway when it failed to maintain a single lane, traveled across the oncoming lane and onto the grassy shoulder where it struck a parked 18-wheeler.

The driver and the Mitsubishi became fully engulfed in flames after the crash.

The 18-wheeler also caught fire after the collision.

The Mitsubishi driver was killed in the crash. The victim’s identity has not been released.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
