64-Year-Old Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run on Ranchester Drive in Houston

Houston, Texas – A 64-year-old woman was killed last Saturday in a hit-and-run accident in Houston, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 10:45 a.m., April 13, in the 6300 block of Ranchester Drive.

Police said the woman was driving a blue Nissan Quest northbound when her car was struck by another vehicle, only described as a white vehicle. The force of the impact caused the Nissan to cross the median into oncoming traffic and crash head-on into a Toyota Camry. The driver of the white vehicle fled the scene after the crash.

The Nissan driver and three people in the Toyota were taken to local hospitals where the Nissan driver was pronounced dead. Her name has not been released.

The police are investigating the crash. Anyone with information on the wanted driver and/or vehicle is urged to contact the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4072 or speak anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
