2 Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on Crosstown Expressway in Corpus Christi

Two Killed in Corpus Christi Crash on Crosstown Expressway near Highway 358 Friday morning

Corpus Christi, Texas (June 25, 2022) – Two people were killed in a wrong-way, head-on collision Friday morning in Corpus Christi, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash occurred at around 2:30 a.m. Friday, June 24 on the Crosstown Expressway between Highway 358 and Gollihar Road.

A 28-year-old driver reportedly entered Crosstown Expressway and drove in the wrong direction at a high rate of speed.

Moments later, the wrong-way car collided head-on with another vehicle.

The wrong-way motorist died at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, only identified as an 18-year-old victim, was trapped in the wreckage and was freed by emergency crews. The patient was then taken to a nearby hospital, where they later died from their injuries.

No other details about the crash were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
