Two Hospitalized after Laredo Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 35

Laredo, Texas (February 19, 2020) – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon north of Laredo, according to the police.

The crash was reported at about 5:34 p.m. February 16, on mile marker 29 of the southbound lane of I-35.

DPS said a blue 2007 Freightliner towing a white Wabash trailer and a red 2019 Kia Optima were traveling southbound on I-35 when the driver of the Optima failed to control their speed and rear-ended the Wabash trailer.

The Optima continued onto the protected median and hit the center cable poles.

The driver and passenger of the Kia were taken to a Laredo hospital for treatment.

The crash temporarily closed I-35 southbound main lanes at mile marker 32. The lanes were later reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.

We hope the injured victims recover quickly.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
