One Killed in SW Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on US 59 (Southwest Freeway)

Houston, Texas (January 28, 2022) – One person was killed early Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash in southwest Houston, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 4:30 a.m., on the Southwest Freeway (US 59) near West Bellfort.

Authorities said a sports car was speeding on the freeway when it rear-ended an 18-wheeler.

The driver of the sports car was killed in the crash. Their identity has not been released.

The crash closed all outbound lanes of the freeway, and motorists were urged to seek alternate routes.

No other details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
