Officer and Civilian Injured in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on Houston Avenue at Bayland Avenue

Houston, Texas (February 7, 2021) – A Houston police officer was among the two people who were injured early Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Houston, according to authorities.

The crash happened around 1:30 a.m., February 6, in the 3100 block of Houston Avenue at the intersection of Bayland Avenue.

Authorities said the officer was driving southbound on Houston Avenue while a Buick was traveling eastbound on Bayland Avenue.

The Buick ran a stop sign and crashed into the side of the police cruiser.

The officer sustained minor knee injuries. The other driver was uninjured, but a passenger was taken to a local hospital with back injuries.

The Buick driver was cited.

The crash remains under investigation.
