Harris County, Texas (March 2, 2020) – One person was killed, and another was injured in a rear-end collision early Monday morning in west Harris County, according to a local news source.

The deadly crash took place just after 1:30 a.m. in the 7500 block of State Highway 6 at Empanada Drive.

Deputies said a silver Infiniti SUV was at the intersection when the light turned green, and it was rear-ended by a speeding white Nissan Altima.

The impact caused the SUV to veer off the road, and it came to a stop in a nearby parking lot, while the Altima came to a stop at the intersection.

The Altima driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The SUV driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
