Man Killed in Harris County Street Racing Crash on Clay Road near Grand Parkway; Oluwatise Gbadebo Arrested

Harris County, Texas (June 24, 2021) – A man was killed on Wednesday in a street racing crash in west Harris County, according to the deputies.

The fatal crash happened on June 23, on Clay Road near the Grand Parkway.

Deputies said a 20-year-old man was driving a Camaro and was racing with his friend, Oluwatise Gbadebo, 20, who was driving a Mustang. An 18-wheeler turned left in front of them into a gas station and was hit by the Camaro.

The Camaro and the Mustang were traveling around 90 mph before the crash.

The Camaro driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

Gbadebo avoided crashing into the 18-wheeler, drove into oncoming traffic and hit a curb.

Gbadebo returned to the scene and was arrested. He has been charged in connection with the crash. He didn’t show any signs of impairment.

An investigation is underway.
