Tony Calvin Henson Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on SH 64 in Smith County

Tony Calvin Henson Killed in Smith County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 64

 Smith County, Texas (March 17, 2021) – The man who was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday evening in Smith County has been identified as Tony Calvin Henson, 64, of Troup, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash was reported around 5:30 p.m., March 13, on State Highway 64, just west of Arp.

According to a preliminary investigation, Henson was driving an SUV when he stopped on the southbound shoulder of the highway. He then attempted to drive across the highway from the shoulder, and the SUV was struck on its left side by a semi-truck.

Henson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi-truck driver, Michael Anthony Hill, 57, of Center, was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
