Woman Killed in Harris County Two-Vehicle Crash on Beaumont Highway near San Jacinto River

Harris County, Texas (August 14, 2022) – One person was killed Saturday evening in a hit-and-run crash in northeast Harris County, according to the deputies.

The fatal crash happened on August 13, on the Beaumont Highway near the San Jacinto River.

Deputies said a Dodge pickup truck tried to pass another vehicle in the westbound lanes of the highway and struck an eastbound vehicle.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. She was only identified as an adult woman.

A driver and two passengers in the Dodge left their truck at the scene, got into another vehicle, and fled the scene.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with any information about the crash is asked to contact HCSO’s Vehicular Crimes Division.
