One Killed in Newton County Pedestrian Crash on Highway 62

Newton County, Texas (April 22, 2022) – One person was killed Thursday night in a pedestrian accident in far Newton County, according to a local news source.

The deadly accident happened around 8:30 p.m., April 21, on Highway 62, between Buna and Mauriceville.

According to the report, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released.

No other details were provided.

An investigation is underway.
