10 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Accident on State Highways 111 and 172 in Jackson County

Ten Hurt in Jackson County Car Crash on State Highways 111 and 172

Jackson County, Texas (September 3, 2019) – Ten people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Saturday afternoon in Jackson County, according to the authorities.

The crash happened at State Highways 111 and 172 at about 4 p.m. Saturday, August 31.

Authorities said a Ford Van was traveling southbound on SH 172 when the driver failed to stop for a stop sign and collided with a Dodge pickup truck heading east on SH 111.

The van then struck a red Toyota pickup stopped at a stop sign on northbound SH 172.

Three children riding in the van sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

Four other children and the driver of the van were taken by EMS to DeTar Hospital Navarro for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Two people in the Dodge van were taken to Jackson County Hospital District with non-life-threatening injuries.

The DPS is investigating the accident.
