13-Year-Old Girl Killed and Alicia Stephenson Injured in Lufkin Four-Vehicle Crash on US 59

Lufkin, Texas (July 27, 2021) – According to Texas DPS, a child was killed, and seven other people were injured Sunday afternoon in a four-vehicle crash, about one-half mile south of Lufkin.

The fatal crash happened around 4:15 p.m., July 25, on US Highway 59.

DPS said a 2017 Ford F-350 pickup truck was traveling southbound on the highway when it had a tire blow-out, causing it to cross the center median and crash head-on into a 2014 Dodge SUV.

The impact caused the Dodge to crash into a 2008 Honda passenger car.

The Ford continued and hit a 2017 Ford F-150 pickup before coming to a stop.

The driver of the Ford F-350, Gabrila Godoy, 30, of Lufkin, was taken to CHI St. Luke’s Hospital in Lufkin for treatment. The passengers in the vehicle, an 11-year-old boy, a 9-year-old girl, and a 4-year-old boy, were also taken to CHI St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment.

The Dodge driver, Alicia Stephenson, 33, of Portage, Wisconsin, was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston for treatment. Her 13-year-old female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Honda driver, Hannah Fowler, 31, of Diboll, was treated and released at the scene.

The driver of the Ford F-150, Misty Denton, 46, of Lake Jackson, was taken to Woodland Heights Hospital in Lufkin for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
