14-Year-Old Boy Killed, Jackson Bradley and Ashley Worrell Injured in Lubbock Two-Vehicle Crash at 19th & Slide; Joshua Torres Charged

Lubbock, Texas (June 15, 2022) – A 14-year-old boy was killed, and two other people were seriously injured on May 28 in a DWI crash in Lubbock, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 7:41 p.m., in the area of 19th & Slide.

Police said Joshua Torres, 21, was driving southbound on Slide when he crashed into another vehicle that was in the westbound lanes attempting to turn southbound.

A 14-year-old boy was killed in the crash. His name has not been released.

The driver of the other vehicle, Ashley Worrell, 38, and passenger, Jackson Bradley, 17, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Torres was taken to Covenant Medical Center with minor injuries before being taken to the Lubbock County Detention Center. He was booked on charges of intoxication manslaughter, and he bonded out on a $36,000 bond.

The crash remains under investigation.
