16-Year-Old Boy Fatally Hit by Train on US Highway 77B in San Patricio

16-Year-Old Boy Killed in San Patricio Train-Pedestrian Accident on US Highway 77B

San Patricio, Texas (April 10, 2020) – A 16-year-old Sinton boy was fatally hit by a train Thursday morning in San Patricio, according to a local news source.

The deadly accident happened at about 4:30 a.m. April 9, on the railroad tracks along US Highway 77B, south of Sinton.

According to investigators, the boy was sleeping in the middle of the train tracks, and the engineer blew his horn as the train approached. The teen stood up and walked towards the southbound train and was hit.

The victim was killed in the accident. His name has not been released.

No further details were provided.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
