17-Year-Old Killed in Car Crash on South Hackberry Street in San Antonio

17-Year-Old Killed in San Antonio Two-Vehicle Crash on South Hackberry Street 

San Antonio, Texas (June 18, 2020) – A 17-year-old driver was killed Wednesday night in a two-vehicle crash in San Antonio, according to police.

The crash occurred just after 6:00 p.m. on June 17, in the 900 block of South Hackberry, near E. César Chávez Boulevard and Interstate 37.

Police said the 17-year-old was driving southbound at a high rate of speed when he crashed into a gray Chevy SUV that was turning into a business parking lot from the northbound lane.

The teenager was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center, where he later died. His front-seat passenger, a 14-year-old boy, was taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Both were not wearing seatbelts.

The Chevy driver, a 27-year-old woman, and her 1-year-old child were taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Charges are pending.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
