Two Critically Injured in NW Harris County Motorcycle Crash on State Highway 249 at Old Foltin Road

Harris County, Texas (September 9, 2022) – Two people were critically injured on Monday in a motorcycle crash in northwest Harris County, according to the deputies.

The accident happened on September 5, in the northbound lanes of SH 249 at Old Foltin Road.

Deputies said a man and a woman were on a motorcycle when they failed to control their speed and rear-ended an SUV at a high rate of speed. Witnesses said they were weaving in and out of traffic prior to the crash.

Both the man and the woman were not wearing their helmets at the time of the crash. One of them was airlifted to the hospital with critical injuries, while the other victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
