1 Killed, 5 Injured in Bus Crash on SH 71 in Del Valle

One Killed, Six Injured in Del Valle Bus Crash on State Highway 71

Del Valle, Texas – One person was killed and five others were injured Monday morning in a crash involving a bus in Del Valle, according to officials.

The crash happened just after 9:30 a.m., December 11, in the 2700 block of E State Highway 71’s westbound service road near Del Valle Street.

Officials said a car rear-ended a CapMaetro bus at a bus stop.

Two people were taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, one with critical life-threatening injuries and the other with potentially serious injuries. Two more people were taken to Dell Seton Medical Center, both with potentially serious injuries. Two other people were evaluated for minor injuries and refused EMS transport.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released.

No additional information was available.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
