2 Dead in Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 290 near Tidwell in Houston

Two Killed in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 290 near Tidwell

Houston, Texas (February 29, 2020) – Two people were killed in a wrong-way crash early Saturday morning in Houston, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened at about 2:20 a.m. on Highway 290 near Tidwell.

Police said a truck was traveling the wrong way on the highway when it crashed into an oncoming white Toyota Corolla. 

The driver of the Corolla was pronounced dead at the scene.

The wrong-way driver was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

The identities of the victims were not immediately released.

The crash closed the westbound lanes of Highway 290 at Tidwell. 

Motorists were urged to seek alternate routes.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
