Two Injured in Rhome Two-Vehicle Crash on US 81/287 near CR 4840

Rhome, Texas – Two people were injured Friday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Rhome, according to a local news source.

The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m., February 9, on U.S. 81/287 near County Road 4840.

According to the report, a Chevrolet S-10 failed to yield the right of way, pulled into the roadway from CR 4840, and was struck on the driver’s side by a Chevy Silverado that was traveling northbound on the highway.

The driver of the S-10 was airlifted to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth in serious condition. The passenger in the S-10 was taken to John Peter Smith in Fort Worth by ambulance in serious condition.

Three people in the Silverado were uninjured in the crash.

The crash closed the highway and has since been reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.
