Good Samaritan, Stranded Driver Injured in San Antonio Crash on Interstate 35

San Antonio, Texas – Two people were injured Saturday evening in a crash in San Antonio’s Northeast side, according to the police.

The crash happened around 8:00 p.m., January 20, near the 2900 block of IH 35 North.

Police said a 55-year-old woman was standing in front of her Jeep helping a stranded driver. She had parked her car in lane three and partially on the right shoulder to help the driver with some jumper cables.

Suddenly, a Nissan Frontier pickup truck came traveling down the highway and rear-ended the Jeep, which then hit the woman and the stranded driver.

The woman hit the pavement and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The stranded driver was redirected to the guardrail and was also taken to the hospital in stable condition.

No other details were provided.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
