Two Injured in Tyler Two-Vehicle Crash at Loop 323 and Frankston Highway; Broderick Willis Arrested

Tyler, Texas (February 22, 2021) – Two people were injured, and another was arrested following a two-vehicle crash Sunday night in Tyler, according to police.

The crash happened just before 11:15 p.m., February 21, at the intersection of SSW Loop 323 and Frankston Highway.

Police said Broderick Willis, 24, of Tyler, was driving a Ford F-250 southbound on Frankston Highway when he ran a red light at the intersection and struck another vehicle.

Willis ran from the scene but was caught by the police. He was taken to the Smith County Jail on charges of Driving While Intoxicated, Intoxication Assault x 2, and Accident Involving Damage to Vehicle >=$200.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to UT Health, where he was taken to the ICU. The passenger was also taken to UT Health where they were treated and released.

The police are investigating the crash.
