2 Fishermen Injured in Corpus Christi Boating Accident near Cos Way Bait and Tackle

Corpus Christi, Texas (January 3, 2020) – Two fishermen were injured in a boating accident early Friday morning in Corpus Christi, a local news source reported.

The crash occurred around 2:55 a.m. in the waters close to the Cos Way Bait and Tackle.

Officials said two men were fishing when their steering wheel malfunctioned, and the boat crashed into a gas platform.

It took search crews 15 minutes to discover the men who were holding on to the gas platform.

One of them had an injury to his leg, and another had a laceration to his forehead. They were both taken to the Cos Way Fishing Pier Bait & Tackle with non-life threatening injuries.

The Game Wardens with Texas Parks and Wildlife are investigating the crash.
