Two Injured in Wichita County Plane Crash on US 287J near Wichita Valley Airport

Wichita County, Texas (December 5, 2021) – Two people were injured Saturday afternoon in a plane crash in Wichita County, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash was reported shortly after 4:30 p.m., December 4, in the 3590 block of US 287J, near Wichita Valley Airport.

DPS said a single-engine plane was on its final approach to the Wichita Valley Airport when it crashed short of the airport inbound to Runway 31.

Two people were on board the plane at the time of the crash. One of them was airlifted to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
