Lavante Lang Injured in DWI Crash at 111th Street and University Avenue in Lubbock

Lavante Lang Seriously Injured in Lubbock Two-Vehicle Crash at 111th Street and University Avenue

Lubbock, Texas (September 4, 2023) – One person was seriously injured Sunday night in a DWI crash in Lubbock, according to the police.

The crash was reported around 8:46 p.m., September 3, at the intersection of 111th Street and University Avenue.

Police said 26-year-old Grant Dewbre was driving a passenger car southbound in the 11000 block of University Avenue while 30-year-old Lavante Lang was also driving a passenger car southbound in the 11000 block of University Avenue.

Dewbre’s car collided with Lang’s car at the intersection. 

Both vehicles left the roadway and struck a utility pole in the 2500 block of 111th Street after the crash.

Lang was transported to University Medical Center with serious injuries.

Dewbre was arrested and transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center, where he was charged with Intoxication Assault.

The crash remains under investigation.
