2 Killed, 1 Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Rankin Road in Harris County

Two Men Killed, One Woman Injured in Harris County Pedestrian Crash on Rankin Road near North Freeway

Harris County, Texas (May 19, 2023) – Two men were killed and a woman was hospitalized after they were struck by a vehicle early Friday morning in Harris County, according to authorities.

The deadly crash occurred at about 1:00 a.m. on Rankin Road, just east of North Freeway

Authorities said the three victims were walking along the roadway when a Chevrolet Tahoe struck them.

A man in his early 20s was pronounced dead at the scene, while a man in his 40s was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

A woman in her 20s was also transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver fled the scene but later returned to the scene. The driver was arrested and booked into the jail.

The crash remains under investigation.
