Construction Worker Hit by Drunk Driver on Hwy 155 in Tyler; Matthew Pallitto Arrested

Construction Worker Injured in Tyler Pedestrian Accident on Highway 155; Matthew Pallitto Arrested

Tyler, Texas (November 15, 2022) – A construction worker was injured early Thursday morning after being struck by an alleged drunk driver in Tyler, according to the DPS.

The accident happened around 12:38 a.m., November 10, on Highway 155.

DPS said the construction worker was in a mower when a driver hit the mower, as well as two pickup trucks owned by the construction company.

The construction worker was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver, Matthew Ray Pallitto, 35, of Tyler, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He has been charged with intoxication, assault with a vehicle, and disregarding an official traffic control device. His bond was set at 50,500, and he was released from jail on November 10.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
