Virgil Woods Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Highway 62/82 in Gains County

Virgil Woods ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Gains County Crash on Highway 62/82  near County Road 21

Gaines County, Texas (November 7, 2023) – The motorcyclist who died following a traffic crash in Gaines County has been identified as Virgil Woods, 60, of Hobbs

The deadly crash took place on Highway 62/82 near County Road 215 on

Woods was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle west down Highway 62/82 while a semi-truck was traveling southbound on the county road

The driver of the semi-truck  failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign and started to cross the westbound lanes of the highway

Unfortunately, Woods struck the vehicle’s trailer.

Woods was pronounce dead at the scene

The driver of the semi-truck was not injured

The crash remains under investigation.
