Tow Truck Driver Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on I-20 in Grand Prairie

One Killed in Grand Prairie Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 20 near South Great Southwest Parkway Overpass
Grand Prairie, Texas (January 4, 2019) – A tow truck driver was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident Thursday night on a Grand Prairie freeway, according to the police.
The deadly accident took place at about 11:30 p.m. January 3, in the westbound lanes of Interstate 20, near the South Great Southwest Parkway overpass.
Police said the tow truck driver had stopped to help a stranded driver when a passing car struck him.
The victim died the scene. His name has not been disclosed.
The involved driver fled the scene heading into Arlington.
Police closed the westbound lanes for several hours as they investigated the crash. The lanes were reopened at about 3:45 a.m.
The police are investigating the crash.
