2 Killed after SUV Collides with Van at County Road 539 and County Road 543 in Collin County

Two People Killed in Collin County Crash at County Road 539 and County Road 543

Collin County, Texas (June 23, 2023) – Two people were killed after an SUV and a van collided on Thursday in Collin County, authorities said.

The deadly crash happened in the area of County Road 539 and County Road 543 on Thursday, June 22.

According to the authorities, the van was turning onto CR 539 from CR 543 when the driver failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with an SUV. After the impact, the SUV slid off into a ditch, where it struck two construction workers while the van slid into a power pole.

A passenger of the SUV was declared dead at the scene. One of the construction workers died, and the other sustained minor injuries.

The victims’ names have not been released pending notification of their respective families.

The crash remains under investigation.
