2 Killed in Fiery Two-Vehicle Crash on I-35 in Austin

Two Killed in Austin Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 35

Austin, Texas (October 26, 2021) – Two people were killed Monday night in a fiery two-vehicle crash in Austin, according to officials.

The deadly crash happened just after 8:30 p.m., October 25, in the 5300 block of N. I-35 southbound, just north of 51st Street.

Officials said a vehicle collided with a semi-truck on the interstate.

The vehicle became fully engulfed in flames after the collision.

Two people in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released.

The semi-truck driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

The crash closed the southbound lanes of I-25 after exit 238B.

Motorists were urged to use exit 238B (the 51st Street exit) as an alternate route.

The APD Vehicular Homicide Unit is investigating the crash.
