Two Officers Injured in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash at Travis Street and St. Joseph Parkway

Houston, Texas (November 21, 2020) – Two police officers were injured in a wrong-way crash Friday night in Houston, according to authorities.

The crash happened at about 11:00 p.m., November 20, in the 1900 block of Travis Street at the intersection of St. Joseph Parkway.

Police said an Impala was traveling the wrong way on Travis Street when it broadsided a Houston police cruiser. The force of the impact caused the cruiser to slam into the front door of the Lone Star Saloon, which was closed at the time.

One officer sustained a cut to their right arm while the other officer sustained knee injuries and chest bruises. They were both taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Impala driver and a passenger were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover.

The crash remains under investigation.

We hope the injured victims recover quickly.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons for driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
