Kiran Sharma Killed in Live Oak County Crash on Interstate Highway 37

Live Oak County, Texas – A woman was killed Sunday night after she fell off her motorcycle and was hit by several vehicles in Live Oak County, according to the authorities.

The deadly accident happened on December 17, on Interstate Highway 37 near mile marker 56.

Authorities said 25-year-old Kiran Olivia Sharma was traveling southbound on her motorcycle when she was rear-ended by a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria driven by a 28-year-old Sandia man.

The motorcycle became lodged into the front of the Ford after the impact, causing the car to swerve between the inside and outside lanes before finally stopping near the MM 56 southbound exit ramp.

Sharma fell off her motorcycle while the Ford was in motion and she landed on the roadway, where she was then hit by a passenger car and two tractor-trailers.

Sharma was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Ford driver was uninjured in the crash.

The Texas DPS is investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
