2 Officers Injured in Motorcycle Accident on Highway 183 in Irving

Two Officers Sustains Minor Injuries in Irving Motorcycle Crash on Highway 183
Irving, Texas (January 20, 2019) – Two officers were injured when two police motorcycles collided Tuesday morning in Irving, authorities said.
The wreck took place shortly before 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 15 on Highway 183.
According to the authorities, the officers were parked on the left shoulder of the road working traffic when the lead officer pulled out to stop a white car in the left lane while the second officer pulled out to pull over a red car in the center lane.
As the second officer accelerated while driving on the shoulder, the lead officer and his violator slowed to stop on the left shoulder. The driver of a black car in the left lane behind the white car violator hit the brakes and boxed in the second officer before he could get ahead to pull over the red car.
The second officer then slammed into the lead officer.
The black car driver stopped at the scene, got out and checked on the officers then got back into his car. He then pulled out of the crash scene and over to the shoulder of the road.
The officers sustained minor injuries in the crash.
Police are investigating the accident.
