Denarius Penson Injured in Auto-Pedestrian Crash on Highway 96 in Center

Houston Man Denarius Penson Injured in Center Pedestrian Crash on Highway 96

Center, Texas (June 6, 2019) – The man who was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle on Monday morning in Center has been identified as Denarius Penson of Houston, according to the authorities.

The crash happened at about 11:43 a.m. June 3, on Highway 96, near EZ Mart convenience store.

Police said Penson was working on a construction site helping direct traffic when a coworker driving an International Water Truck backed over him.

Penson was transported to Nacogdoches Medical Center in Center and later airlifted to a Shreveport hospital for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle, Joe Williamson of Lufkin, was not hurt and stayed at the scene.

The crash is under investigation.
