2-Year-Old Girl Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Brea Crest Street

Houston, Texas (February 4, 2023) – A 2-year-old girl was killed Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle while being dropped off at a babysitter’s place in Houston, according to the deputies.

The deadly accident happened around 5:00 p.m., February 3, in the 2300 block of Brea Crest Street.

Deputies said the child wandered into the path of a moving vehicle when the SUV rolled over her.

The girl was taken to the hospital, where she later died.

The 43-year-old driver who hit the child stayed at the scene. She did not appear to be impaired, and investigators could not say whether the woman was the babysitter, but they confirmed that she lived in the area.

The deputies are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
