20-Year-Old Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Katy Freeway in Houston

Houston, Texas – A 20-year-old man was killed earlier this month in a motorcycle crash in Houston, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 9:15 a.m., April 4, in the 8100 block of Katy Freeway(West Interstate Highway 10 service road) at the intersection of Wirt Freeway.

Police said the man was riding a red Ducati motorcycle northbound on Wirt Road when he ran a red light at the intersection and was struck by a white Freightliner tractor-trailer truck that was traveling westbound on the Katy Freeway service road.

The motorcyclist was ejected and was struck by a white Lexus RX 350. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

The 18-wheeler driver remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired, and was questioned and released.

The police are investigating the crash.
