6-Year-Old Boy Killed in Grand Prairie Pedestrian Accident on Regency Drive; Herschel Pearson Arrested

Grand Prairie, Texas (September 12, 2022) – A 6-year-old boy was killed Saturday night after he was struck by a suspected intoxicated driver in Grand Prairie, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 8:00 p.m., September 10, in the 2700 block of Regency Drive, about a mile north of W. Carrier Parkway and Highway 360.

Police said the boy was crossing the street from a residential area to a parking lot when he was hit by an SUV driven by 35-year-old Herschel Pearson.

The boy was taken to the hospital, where he later died. His name has not been released.

Pearson was intoxicated at the time of the crash and was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.

The police are investigating the crash.
