23-Year-Old Man Critically Injured in Rear-End Collision on Interstate 35 in San Antonio

23-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after San Antonio Crash on Interstate 35 near Eisenhauer Road

San Antonio, Texas (June 16, 2022) – A 23-year-old man was critically injured after rear-ending an 18-wheeler early Thursday morning in northeast San Antonio, according to authorities.

The crash occurred at around 3:15 a.m. on Interstate 35 North near Eisenhauer Road.

Authorities said a pickup truck slammed into the back of the big rig that had stopped on the side of the highway waiting for a tow truck.

Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated the pickup truck driver from the wreckage. He was transported to SAMMC with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was uninjured.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
