28-Year-Old Man Killed in East El Paso 9-Vehicle Crash on North Loop 375 near Montana

El Paso, Texas (November 10, 2023) – A 28-year-old man was killed and eight other people were injured Wednesday night in a nine-vehicle crash in east El Paso, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 5:30 p.m., November 8, on North Loop 375 near Montana.

Police said a 20 Gray Peterbilt (heavy tow truck) was traveling northbound when traffic began to slow due to heavy traffic along the highway. The tow truck attempted to swerve to avoid a Ford Edge but was unable to do so and rear-ended it.

The Ford Edge then pushed a Dodge Charger, pushing it into a Honda Accord. The Ford Edge caught fire, was redirected, and rear-ended a Ford Ranger. A Toyota Camry, a Pontiac G5, a Hyundai Tucson, and a Hyundai Elantra tried to avoid the crash but could not.

All vehicles except the Hyundai Tucson and the Hyundai Elantra caught fire.

The driver of the Honda Accord, a 28-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

All the other drivers were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
