Three People Injured in Houston Crash at Capitol Street and Austin Street

Houston, Texas (September 28, 2022) – Three people were injured in a hit-and-run accident involving a pedicab and a car at an intersection in Houston late Tuesday night, according to the Houston Police Department.

The collision took place at about 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, at the intersection of Capitol Street and Austin Street near Minute Maid Park.

Houston police said a woman had picked up her customers after the Houston Astros game when a bicycle taxi she was driving was rear-ended by a car. All three occupants of the pedicab were ejected from the bicycle upon the impact.

First responders found the three people lying in the street following the crash. The names of the victims and the extent of their injuries were not available. All three patients are expected to recover.

The driver of the car did not stop to render aid to the victims and fled the scene.

There were no details regarding the hit-and-run motorist.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
