3 Injured in Officer-Involved Crash at 19th Street and Quaker Avenue in Lubbock

Three Injured in Lubbock Two-Vehicle Crash at 19th Street and Quaker Avenue

Lubbock, Texas (June 7, 2021) – Three people were injured early Sunday morning in an officer-involved crash in Lubbock, according to the police.

The crash happened around 12:29 a.m., June 6, at the intersection of Quaker Avenue and 19th Street.

Police said a Chevrolet Malibu occupied by three juveniles was traveling northbound in the 1900 block of Quaker Avenue while an officer in a marked police vehicle, who was responding to a call for service, was driving eastbound in the 4400 block of 19th Street with the vehicle’s emergency lights and sirens activated.

The vehicles then collided at the intersection.

The Malibu driver was taken to Covenant Medical Center with minor injuries. Two passengers were taken to University Medical Center with minor injuries.

The officer was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
