Sherry Maxey Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Interstate 20 in Ranger

Sherry Maxey ID’d as Woman Killed in Ranger Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 20

Ranger, Texas (June 8, 2023) – The pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle early Tuesday morning in Ranger has been identified as Sherry Maxey, 64, of Eastland.

The deadly crash happened at about 1:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, on Interstate 20 at mile marker 320.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Maxey was lying in the right-hand lane of the eastbound lanes of Interstate Highway 20 at milepost 320 when she was struck by a 2015 Kia Optima.

Maxey died at the scene of the crash.

It is still undetermined if intoxication played a role in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
