3 Injured in Train Accident on Highway 79 in Round Rock

3 Hospitalized after Round Rock Train Crash on Highway 79 near A.W. Grimes Boulevard
Round Rock, Texas (April 1, 2019) – Three people were injured Sunday afternoon in a train crash in Round Rock, authorities said.
The wreck was reported at around 1:00 p.m. Sunday, March 31 on Highway 79, approximately 500 feet west of A.W. Grimes Boulevard.
According to the authorities, crews from Union Pacific were working on the lines when as of yet to be determined reasons two of the construction trains collided on an elevated part of the tracks.
Three people, who were on board the trains, were transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
