Ann Barrett and Sederick Barrett Killed in SW Houston Pedestrian Accident on Westheimer; Donovan Harris Arrested

Houston, Texas (March 28, 2022) – A couple was fatally hit by an intoxicated driver Sunday night in southwest Houston, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 9:30 p.m., March 27, in the 6100 block of Westheimer.

Police said Ann Barrett, 48, and Sederick Barrett, 53, were crossing the street, outside of a crosswalk, when they were hit by a vehicle driven by Donovan Donte Harris, 27.

Both Ann and Sederick were pronounced dead at the scene. A GoFundMe page has been created to help cover the funeral expenses.

Harris remained at the scene after the accident and cooperated with the investigators. Officers believe he was driving at least double the speed limit, which is 35 mph, at the time of the crash. He has been charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter.

The police are investigating the crash.
