Junior Jones Struck, Killed by Vehicle on US 67 near Big Lake

Junior Jones Killed in Big Lake Pedestrian Accident on US Hwy 67

Big Lake, Texas (October 30, 2023) – A 37-year-old man was killed last Saturday in a pedestrian accident outside of Big Lake, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident happened around 8:53 p.m., on October 21, on US Highway 67, near the 752-mile post.

DPS said Junior Jones, of Big Spring, was walking eastbound on the shoulder of the highway after his 2017 Silver Alfa Romeo Giulia had run out of gas. He was then struck from behind by an unknown vehicle that was traveling eastbound in the right lane.

The vehicle fled the scene after the accident.

Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
