Claude Kimmel Killed in Car Crash on US 84 in Nolan County

Claude Kimmel Killed in Nolan County Two-Vehicle Crash at US Highway 84 and Business Highway 84

Nolan County, Texas (October 19, 2023) – One person was killed and another was injured Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Nolan County, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 3:03 p.m., October 18, at the intersection of US 84 and Business Highway 84, less than half a mile northeast of Roscoe.

Authorities said a Dodge car was traveling northbound on Business Highway 84 in the eastbound lane while a Toyota was traveling eastbound on US 84.

The Dodge driver failed to yield at a stop sign and crashed into the Toyota at the intersection.

The Dodge driver, 62-year-old Claude Joseph Kimmel of San Antonio, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Toyota driver was taken to the hospital with serious incapacitating injuries.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
