Tyler Colvin Killed in West Fort Worth Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 281 at FM 4 near Mineral Wells

Fort Worth, Texas (July 12, 2020) – Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday night in west Fort Worth, according to Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 6:20 p.m. July 10, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 281 and FM 4, south of Mineral Wells.

DPS said Tyler Colvin, 19, of San Antonio, was driving a 2016 Toyota Corolla eastbound on FM 4 when he failed to yield the right-of-way and was t-boned by a 2016 GMC 3500 pickup truck that was traveling northbound on U.S 281.

Colvin was declared dead at the scene. His passenger, Rebekah Wendt, 20, of Fort Worth, was airlifted to JPS in Fort Worth, where she later died.

Both Colvin and Wendt were college students.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
