3-Year-Old Boy Killed in North Harris County Pedestrian Accident on Kuykendahl Road

Harris County, Texas (July 11, 2020) – A 3-year-old boy was struck and killed by a car Friday afternoon in north Harris County, according to authorities.

The accident happened at about 1:00 p.m. on July 10, in the 13000 block of Kuykendahl Road.

Deputies said a grandfather was walking on the sidewalk with two children, including the 3-year-old boy.

The 3-year-old boy was then struck by a car that was pulling into a parking space.

The inexperienced teenage driver accelerated while pulling into the parking space and drove up onto the sidewalk where she hit the child. She told investigators that her foot accidentally got stuck on the accelerator.

The boy was airlifted to Texas Medical Center, where he later died.

The grandfather and the other child sustained minor injuries.

An investigation is ongoing.
