Kassandra Lozano Killed in Laredo Crash on Loop 20 near Lake Casa Blanca

Laredo, Texas – One person was killed and several others were injured Monday morning in a crash in Laredo, according to the police.

The fatal crash was reported around 2:30 a.m., February 12, near the 5200 block of Loop 20 near Lake Casa Blanca.

Police said a pickup truck was traveling southbound on the highway when it crashed into a pole and ended up in the southbound lanes. Several people pulled over and tried to help the person who was in the truck. While the people were trying to rescue the people from the vehicle, a Chevy Corvette crashed into the pickup truck and the people who were trying to help.

The impact caused a fire. 

The female passenger of the Corvette, Kassandra Lozano, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four people were critically injured in the crash. Two of them were taken to a Laredo hospital while the other two were taken to a San Antonio hospital.

The crash closed Loop 20 for a couple of hours.

The police are investigating the crash.
